I feel I let myself down; how many times in a day do we use this sentence ? How often do we believe that we are not doing well enough? How often in a day do we chastise ourselves for not being perfect? For not having lived up to our own expectations?

There was a time when I believed that I was letting myself down, and I was so convinced that this was true that I was making my own days pretty miserable.
