Boost your nutrient intake
Maintaining a healthy diet of fruit and vegetables is common sense, but in today's modern world, the nutritional value of our food is decreasing.
Modern, intensive farming methods, longer storage times and increasing food processing have all contributed to reduced nutrient levels, meaning 5-a-day may not be enough.
BetterYou Total Nutrition (£17.95 for 200g - equivalent to 20 scoops), is a great way to boost your nutrient intake. The daily supplement provides every essential mineral, vitamin, protein, amino acid and essential fatty acid you require on a daily basis and could be just the thing for all the family.
Total Nutrition comes in a powder form and can be added to water, fruit juice, smoothies and even soups and casseroles, making it easy to include a little extra nutrition in everyday meals and snacks - without even noticing! Its unique organic, raw food formula ensures the highest bio-availability of nutrients in their food state.

Green Morning Smoothie
If you can adopt the habit of a green smoothie first thing in the morning, it will supercharge you for the whole day. It may not be the most appetising thing to look at a pint of bright green stuff at 6am, but trust me it's worth it. The fruity base of this drink will also completely fool your brain into thinking that there is nothing green within a mile of your smoothie.
Ingredients
1 ripe banana (with brown spots on the skin)
3 handfuls of spinach
300ml of fresh apple juice
1 Scoop of Total Nutrition
Method
Simply add everything into your blender and blend.
Or for something a little different, how about a Butter Bean dip...
Mean Green Butter Bean
If the thought of a luminous green smoothie doesn't fill you with joy, then Total Nutrition can be used in a whole manner of different dishes. My favourite is to add it to dips, such as home made hummous. My favourite version of this uses butter beans.
Ingredients
1 Can of butter beans - drained
1 large clove of garlic - minced
Juice of half a lemon
4 tablespoons of olive oil
1 scoop of Total Nutrition
2 pinches of good quality sea salt
Method
Simply put all ingredients into a blender, and blend to make a nice green smooosh! Serve with rice cakes or vegetable crudités.
