Divine-tinted spectacles!

Radiant encounters with the divine open themselves to us in extraordinary moments of our lives - looking the eyes of a new born baby, falling in love, transcendental experiences of all kinds, whether in nature, in prayer, meditation or sex. We cherish these experiences, yet we may wonder what actually sets them apart from ordinary moments? What allows them to arise? We often try to replicate these experiences, usually only achieving a partial result.

Could it be that a simple shift in the quality of our attention is the key which allows us to perceive the extraordinary in these moments?

How many people have you encountered today? From morning to evening a whole stream of people pass through our sphere of life. Do any moments of contact and connection stand out as uniquely special? Can you discern a difference in the quality of your attention at that encounter in comparison with more mundane meetings?
A tantric key to joyful living and relating is to fine-tune the quality of our attention by this simple shift in attitude; to see each human being as a manifestation of the divine.

Simply taking on this attitude, meeting each person as a breath of the divine - enriches our quality of attention and allows untold gifts of communion to open up between people.

Suddenly our eyes are seeing the divine, our ears are hearing the divine, our hearts are feeling the divine. We bring respect into each encounter, we create space within ourselves to truly receive the other. Consider how this attitude would affect our interactions with our partners, a complete renewal of relationship is available through taking on this view. How would we care for and raise our children if we allowed ourselves to see them in this light?

What would be revealed and experienced if each person we met today we inwardly received as the divine? What would men experience if they opened themselves to women from this perspective - recognising the Goddess within. What would women learn through men if they could allow their eyes to see the God within each man?

This simple perspective shift brings a profound restoration to our sense of wonder and mystery, so needed in an information overloaded age where we can know it all at a click. Reverence, awe, appreciation, deep communion and an ever rippling stream of gifts unfold for us as we live from this perspective. The recipients of this inner approach will also mysteriously benefit and without quite being able to put the finger on it, will feel deeply met.

I encourage you to play and discover - at one time or another we've all worn rose-tinted spectacles, how about trying on divine-tinted spectacles?
