DorSAR take on the three peaks challenge.
Dorset Search & Rescue are a team of highly trained volunteers who provide additional personnel & resources to the Police & other statutory agencies in the search & recovery of "Vulnerable" missing persons such as dementia patients, children, despondents, elderly and Missing Walkers. They are available for callout 24 hours a day - 365 days a year, DorSAR aim to deploy anywhere in Dorset within 90 minutes of the team being called out.
The Three Peaks Challenge is an attempt to climb the three highest peaks in the UK in 'one go' within 24 hours.
These peaks are Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon. Completed in that order. They'll travel to Fort William on the Friday staying overnight. The challenge will commence with Ben Nevis on the Saturday morning, climbing Scafell Pike that night and finishing with climbing Snowdon on Sunday in Wales!
This is going to be a tough event requiring fitness and the ability to do without sleep! They aim to complete the mountains in a time of 12.5 hours - Ben Nevis in 5 hours, Scafell Pike in 4 hours and Snowdon in 3.5 hours, however this will depend upon the speed of the group. The rest of the time is eaten up by travelling the country to and from each peak.
If you would like to become a team sponsor to help the challenge run that little bit more smoothly, or if you would like to donate to what is a local team providing fantastic support then call Rob Clarke on 07709 923249.
