Egyptian Dance
New regular dance classes in Raqs Sharqi are being established for ladies in Hove and Seaford. This traditional Egyptian dance encourages body awareness, good posture, improves stamina, co-ordination and flexibility and often benefits a woman's self-image and self confidence. The dance is a wonderful vehicle for very individual self expression.

Based on the traditional dance form of Egypt, Raqs Sharqi has an ancient and honoured history which celebrates the power of women. In Egypt the dance is learnt informally within the family and performed at festivals and at family occasions. The dance incorporates fiery hip movements from Africa and gentle lyrical arm movements from India.

Classes are led by Linda, an experienced teacher who has performed in venues such as the Portsmouth Theatre Royal and the Hackney Empire.

Classes will be held at The Rox Dance Studios, Fonthill Road, Hove on Mondays 6.30pm to 8 pm commencing 8 March, and at St. James' Club House, Blatchington Road, Seaford on Tuesdays 1.30pm to 3pm commencing 2 March.

All women are welcome regardless of age, shape or size; and no previous dance experience is necessary. Please telephone Linda on 01323 898164. Let her know if you require classes at any other venues / districts. Also contact her for hen parties, family parties, corporate or charity events. Live musicians may also be booked.
