To celebrate its fifth birthday, the Stratford Centre for Herbal Medicine has revamped its services, relaunched its website, and is offering all new patients a free first consultation.

The Stratford Centre for Herbal Medicine, part of the University of East London, is approved by the National Institute of Medical Herbalists and offers Western herbal medicines (plant remedies) to the public through its team of professionally qualified and experienced herbal practitioners.

The clinic takes a holistic approach, focusing on the individual, not the illness or disease, and factoring in lifestyle choices and emotional state as well as medical history, with the ultimate goal being restoring its patients to health.

The new website explains the consultation services in detail, including full profiles of key staff at the clinic and the option to book a consultation online: www.uel.ac.uk/herbalclinic/appointment

Treatments available include liquorice, which has anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties; skullcap, which is one of the most widely used herbal medicines for the treatment of nervous system disorders; and milk thistle, which can help treat hepatitis, skin problems and liver damage or disease.

The first consultation for a new patient costs £20, with additional consultations costing £12. To celebrate its revamp the Stratford Centre for Herbal Medicine is offering free first consultations to all new patients – a saving of £20 for each new patient.

As well as delivering leading edge herbal medicine treatments, the Stratford Centre for Herbal Medicine provides training for the University of East London’s BSc (Hons) in Herbal Medicine, which is accredited by the National Institute of Medical Herbalists.

The clinic, which is in the University of East London’s Clinical Education Building, based at its Stratford campus, is just a 15 minute walk from Stratford train and tube stations.
