The annual Bewl Water Walk takes place on Sunday 1st May 2011 to raise money for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

Kent and East Sussex locals are being urged to join in the charity's bank holiday weekend walk that takes place from 09:30am - 17:00 around the beautifully scenic and tranquil Bewl Water Reservoir.

There are four distances to choose from, 3, 6, 9 or 13 miles. The 13 mile route is a full circle around the reservoir finishing back at the start (approx. 5 hours)

The Tunbridge Wells volunteer branch of the BHF have been organising this event for seven years and have raised over £25,000 for the charity from this event. Rose Mitson volunteer branch chairman said: "We are raising money for the BHF's 50th anniversary appeal to Mend Broken Hearts. It would be fantastic if we could raise a record amount to celebrate the 50th year and support this groundbreaking appeal."

So whether you are looking to take part in a friendly event with your dog, a family event in the fresh air or as part of a team, the BHF would love to hear from you. There is a £3 registration fee per person and free parking. The BHF rely wholly on the sponsorship that is raised. Families traditionally bring along a picnic and make a day of it.

Why not help celebrate their 50th birthday this year by pledging a minimum of £50 in sponsorship for this event - FIFTY FOR FIFTY! Just a pound for every year the BHF has been doing its fantastic, life-saving work.

To sign up to this event please contact the BHF regional office on 01892 893918 or email south @bhf.org.uk
