Indoor environment more polluted than outdoor!

Leading indoor plant Company Leaf-it-At-Home confirms that plants clean indoor pollution, reduce stress and stimulate creativity.

A report by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)[1] estimates that the indoor environment may be two to five times and in some cases as high as 100 times more polluted than the outdoor air. The likes of computers, wi-fi and electrical goods used in workplaces across the country give off by-products from their electrical energy and continued exposure can lead to physical symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, sore eyes and sore throats. Common pollutants such as ammonia, formaldehyde, and benzene can also be released from day-to-day items such as paint and furniture.

However, the antidote to this modern lifestyle dilemma couldn't be easier or more pleasant to achieve; apart from looking good, interior plants have been proven to have significant health and wellbeing benefits. NASA research has discovered that plants are the best filters of common pollutants.

Interior plant design company Leaf-it-at-Home www.Leafitathome.co.uk, and its sister company Lease-A-Leaf, have been supplying health boosting plants to homes and offices across the UK for a number of years. Leaf-it-at-Home director Andrew Davidson says; 'Our leafy friends release moisture into the air, absorb heat and noise, and break down harmful substances from electrical equipment and household items.'

Interior plants help on both physical and psychological levels:

The physical effect is...that they clean, purify and condition the air that we breathe in.

The psychological impact is, that the very presence of plants has been shown to increase positive feelings and reduce the feelings of anxiety, anger and sadness.

Leaf-it Director Andrew Davidson goes on to say; 'We found that in many workplaces the air is not only very dry but also full of harmful substances which can cause health problems. By placing air-purifying plants in the home, we usually see health complaints significantly reduced as well as people's general mood lifting.'
