Interview with Joseph McClendon III
Joseph McClendon III stepped out on stage and for the next few hours he inspired the audience. I remember the seminar clearly because I was astounded by how young and energetic this man was, he was in his 50's, he didn't look a day over 30... I aspire to be this well, have this much energy and look this good at 50. So how does he do it?
Today I got the chance to ask him, he is in the middle of running workshops in London, focusing on the ‘law of attraction' and the mechanics to make it happen. It is a two day event, intense but fun. People attend workshops because they want to make a change so Joseph has spent the last 25 years working out how to inspire people to change their lives for the better. "I believe it is important to tell, show, try and do"
The Next Step, is his introductory workshop, he asks his audience to bring him their worst fears, emotions and their nightmares. To make a change we must first deal with our fears, hesitations and bad memories and Joseph believes that by the end of the second day his audience will have put behind them these demons that have stopped them making a positive change.
So what are his credentials?
Joseph spoke a little of his background, although he came from a great family, an unexpected event left him with low self esteem, because of his race, three men attacked him. He lost his self respect and ended up living in a cardboard box for three months. His only possession was his Harley Davidson, one night he crashed his bike forcing him to find a mechanic, begging him to fix it in exchange for sweeping the floors and going odd jobs. The man gave Joseph an unexpected present, a book - ‘Think and Grow Rich' by Napolean Hill. This was the starting point for facing his own demons and turning his life around.
One piece of advice
So what is Joseph's one piece of advice to anyone who is feeling low, desperate and out of control of their life. "There is never just one piece of advice" he explains " you need to seek out opportunities to help yourself, we all need help and other people so find others who have been in a similar position and ask them for help, find and surround yourself with new people so that you can change your circumstances, go to libraries, read books and seek out those opportunities."
Change your life
Making a change involves understanding psychology and emotions so that you can better prepare yourself for those miracles and co-incidences that will ultimately change your life. So many people have now heard of The Secret and The Law of Attraction but many are still left frustrated and feeling it doesn't work. Joseph points out that that this is actually a 5,000 year technology and because we have evolved we need to understand neuroscience and the mechanics of how it works and he feels that this is why most people attend his workshop ‘The Next Step'.
For those who master this stage Joseph has then created his Wellness event. The three day event teaches people the tools to attain youthful looks, feeling well and staying young. He teaches the importance of the air we breathe, the water we drink, food we eat, thoughts we think, words we speak and the quality of our sleep. "People really don't understand the importance of what food does". Based on the fact that Joseph not only looks 20 years younger, but he feels younger and has mountains of energy, I would say he knows exactly what he is talking about.
Over the last 25 years Joseph has been inspiring 1,000's of people every year to make positive changes to their health, wellbeing and life circumstances. Although the fundamental principles remain the same, technology and the way people ingest information has changed and so Joseph continues to develop his seminars and workshops, making sure they are relevant to our time.
So what of his plans for the future?
He made a promise to his mentor all those years ago, to teach as many people as he could the lessons he had himself learned. Joseph appreciates there is only one of him, so his plan is to inspire coaches & trainers to spread his message. As his passion is attending his events and influencing his audience in person I know Joseph will be running more seminars and workshops for many years to come.
See and hear from Joseph Live in Kent
Joseph McClendon has agreed to include Tunbridge Wells on his tour in November so Wellbeing Magazine has teamed up with Medwestern to organise an evening seminar on the 24th November 2010 at the Spa Hotel, Tunbridge Wells.
This is a rare opportunity to be up close and personal with one of the world's most influential speakers, Joseph normally speaks to audiences of over 1000 people (when I saw him I was one of 12,000 people!) so to be able to be one of 300 people will be a rare opportunity.
