New entrants needed in farming industry
Farming was once this country's most important industry. Then, for a variety of reasons, things got tough and the industry slid down the prosperity ladder. The wheel revolves - farming is heading upwards in a big, big way. But there a huge problem is looming! Shortage of people entering the industry!
In towns and cities and villages there are people of all ages and from all walks of life who would like to know more about careers in agriculture and the associated industries such as horticulture (together, these are often embraced in the term ‘farming').
Some of those people have had a secret yearning to be a hands on farmer for years, some perhaps have been made redundant, yet others are already involved in the industry and would welcome some help with career advancement.
Perhaps you are aware of the looming threats associated with the creation of Food Security and the related issues and want the opportunity to ‘make a difference', to ‘give something back'.
