An exhibition of paintings by Nick Amey opens at the Portico Gallery in Riverhead, Sevenoaks on 15 February, 2011.
Depicting glimpsed scenes in the Kent landscape, Nick's paintings celebrate the splendid isolation of the single elements that contribute towards the stunning and welcoming beauty of the area.
Nick captures fleeting memories and experiences and fixes them in simplified scenes that intensify the vision. Works will include beautifully colourful images showing trees, fields, oast houses and even a game of cricket on the village green, in oil and acrylic on canvas.
The exhibition will mark the reopening of the Portico Gallery in Sevenoaks on 15 February after a seven week closure.  The new owners, Malcolm Dent and Janette Shaw are planning a series of exhibitions and will continue to offer a bespoke picture framing service.
