Osteopathy at the Kikodo Centre

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

The Kikodo Centre, Sevenoaks has a vibrant, energising and positive ethos. All their therapists are highly trained and many are also experienced sportsmen/women with a keen interest in the martial arts. The philosophy of Kikodo is to promote and teach the idea, that through awareness and training, anyone can nurture and strengthen their own personal ‘Ki', the life force at the heart of one's healing system which sustains good health!

Tim Goullet, an experienced osteopath, started his journey in 1987 with a degree in Sports, which complemented his intense training in karate and yoga.

Tim didn't stop at this and took his academic path further by graduating in 1993 with a diploma in Osteopathy and Naturopathy and is now also a lecturer at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine. Curious to find better ways to deliver his treatments, Tim went to Thailand and qualified in various styles of Thai Massage.

As Tim specialises in pre and post natal disorders I went along to see him, now in my 34 week of pregnancy I had started to get pain in my hips and lower back. The consultation was thorough and the treatment took place on a floor mat, which was perfect as getting up onto a couch can be quite difficult at the moment. The treament used influences of thai massage and osteopath a style Tim has developed. It certainly helped to work on my hips and back and along with the exercises and a couple more sessions the pain was much improved.

With an active interest in Karate, Tim has a unique insight into understanding how the body works and also specialises in Sports injury.
