The real detox
While living in LA, Natasha Clancy, the former face of Oil of Olay, noticed a significant increase in her energy levels, improved skin complexion and general well being when time constraints forced her to stop home juicing and started to use some of the many juice bars all over LA.
‘The difference was in the machine,' says Natasha. ‘All the good juice bars were hydraulically pressing the fruit and vegetables so my body was getting flooded with a far more concentrated dose of vitamins, enzymes and nutrients.'
A modern cooked diet, no matter how healthy, can lose much of it's nutritional value when heated over 50 degrees or pasteurized for supermarket distribution. Sugars, wheat and protein can leave the digestive system overworked and even fresh organic vegetables lose a significant percentage of their nutritional value when cooked.
The shop bought fresh juices are all pasteurized and much of what the original juice contained is destroyed too.
Natasha has imported a hydraulic press and devised a series of detox programs based around her experience in LA.
‘I started doing it for a few celebrity friends of mine, and then for some of the young mums at my son's school,' says Natasha.
‘Now I want to branch out and offer a very personal, tailor made service to a wider client base.'
One, three, or five day courses are delivered to your work or home address daily as a series of 6 x 500ml bottles of fruit and vegetable juice blends pressed fresh every morning.
This way, the body absorbs a massive amount of nutrients and enzymes within minutes due to the minimal stress on the digestive system. And the pressed juice contains up to 5 times the amount A five day detox course will Spring clean the body, replacing much needed vitamins and enzymes and on average lose you a pound of weight per day.
‘You'll feel much more energized, clearer-skinned and generally more healthy in a matter of days,' says Natasha.
‘It's more of a liquid feast than a juice fast. Putting down the coffee cup and staying off the alcohol.
